in office. The amendment allows two terms (either in succession
or not in succession) but prohibits election to a third term.
HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 30
Constitutional amendment; local sources of revenues.
Patron: L. Karen Darner
Summary: Requires the General Assembly to
maintain local sources of revenue and to appropriate general

full terms. In addition to any partial term, a person may serve
eight years in each house or a total of 16 years in the General
Assembly in a lifetime. The limits apply to terms of service
beginning on or after the start of the 2002 Regular Session of
the General Assembly.

the Governor an additional 15 days to act on legislation presented

from 30 days to 15 days.
