Virginia's Constitutional Officers - Directly Accountable To You!


The Commonwealth of Virginia is blessed with good, clean government because it trusts the people to make wise decisions through regular elections. Thomas Jefferson believed deeply that government works best when it is close to the people and ultimately responsible to them through the ballot box.

 In most of Virginia's localities, citizens choose the following constitutional officers. Each serve four year terms with the exception of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, who serves an eight year term.
