1607-1644 |

The Trading Party is a living history group that portrays the English colonists of early 17th century Virginia and the Powhatan Indian of that time period. Our goal is to present historically accurate impressions taking great care in documenting material culture through careful research. The English colonial impression focuses on the soldiers of Captain John Smith's Company (1607-1609) and Captain Samual Argall's Company (1610-1616) and county militia companies (1616-1644).
Historical interpretation focuses on: trade between the colonists and the Indians, impact of Powhatan culture on America, warfare in Virginia, material culture of the period, and the historical events themselves.
The Trading Party Party does not limit itself
to interpreting the Virginia colony, but also participates in
living history programs of the other North American colonies.
