2. The page on membership forms, including how to get money, needs to be written. I can muddle through the forms, unless we want to take credit card information over the line. In that case, I don't know enough to feel comfortable protecting the confidentiality of the credit card number. I would hate to be responsible for someone's credit card number getting loose on the internet.

3. Writers needed: Women's History Month is just around the corner (March 1999). I was thinking of adding something special to the website. Specifically, I'd like to do 30 short (1 paragraph to 1 page or as much as needed) bios on the women Gage would have interacted with (one for each day of the month). So often I read something and I run across the names of women whom I know nothing about. Clara Colby, Lillie Devereux Blake, Ellen Battelle Dietrick, Ernestine Rose, and Paulina Wright Davis are a few names, but I'm sure you could come up with a longer list faster than I can. Anyone - officers in state suffrage societies, women she corresponded with to write History of Woman's Suffrage, the women who were active in the Woman's National Liberal Union, fellow abolitionists, local Native American women, friends, family, . . . preferably the more obscure women (a polite way of say, "Please, no bios on Anthony or Stanton."). I think we could make a nice contribution to women's studies, in addition to turning women on to women's history and reclaiming some of our feminist foremothers. Anyway, I'd like 10 volunteers to do 3 bios each.

4. Writers needed: We can add new essays every month or every other month, I'd like to do a series of topical articles: say something about her attitudes toward sexuality- reproduction- motherhood for January, her abolitionist/racial sentiments for Feb. (Black History Month), women's history for march, religion for April, her work on Ellen Carrol's contribution to the civil war for May (Memorial Day), male historians she used as sources or male feminists she worked with for June (Father's Day), Gage as American women's historian for July, Gage as suffragist for August, . . . The writer picks the topic.

5. New e-texts of Gage's works. We need (1) someone to pick out some of Gage's work that should be placed on-line, (2) some one to distribute copies of selected works to helpers, (3) some one(s) to turn writings into e-texts (for longer documents, access to an optical scanner would helpful). I don't mind doing the html conversions if I have electronic copies of the works. Or if you prefer posting works to your own site, just send URLs. I'll work with you however you want to work.

6. Writers needed on the Biographical Dictionary: I haven't been able to find information on some of the people listed in the Biographical Dictionary . If you have a paragraph or two on them, I sure would appreciate it if you forwarded it to me. Now that could make a nice extra-credit essay question for the final exam

7. Bookstore: I'd like to add more books to the bookstore, the place where we recommend books. Thus far, Sally and I have been using the following guidelines on adding books to the book store: (1) The books must at least mention Gage. (2) The person who recommends the book must send a write-up (what's on the dust jacket will do but you can add more - a summary, quotes, testimonials, first chapter of book or intro from book, what ever you feel like, we are flexible) along with standard bibliographical information (author, title, publisher, ibsn . . . ). The write up should include a paragraph explaining how the book relates to Gage, her work, and her life. Any recommendations are welcome. So far, we just have the books by Sally.

8. Pass the URL around, especially to colleagues. If nothing else, try adding it to your signature file. Add the URL to your website. The more traffic and the more links to the site, the higher we go in some search engine rankings.

9. Send URLs you want added to the MJG website to sunshine@pinn.net. Sites devoted to Gage are definitely wanted.

10. Report broken links.

11. Proof-reading. I was the only person to do any proof-reading. Please report any typos. Gloria has agreed to help. But proof-reading help is always needed.
